As temperatures continue to drop — with an expected low of under 35 degrees tonight, Dec. 18 — Gwinnett County is providing measures to protect some of its most vulnerable citizens.
From 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Dec. 18 and Dec. 19, the County will open the doors of their five warming stations for families or individuals in need of respite from the freezing temps.
In a Gwinnett County Facebook post, they announced:
“If you or someone you know is in need of warmth, rest, and a meal, please find a station near you. For more details, go to GwinnettCounty.com/WarmingStations or call 770-822-8850.”
The stations will continue to provide temporary, overnight relief on nights when temperatures plummet to 35 degrees or below throughout the cold weather season.
Visitors to the warming sites, as noted, will also receive a meal while getting the opportunity to rest and find relief from the cold.
A map of all warming stations is provided, here.
