The Gwinnett County Public Library invites patrons to dive into its Summer Reading Challenge — Oceans of Possibilities.
The challenge begins Sunday, May 15, and ends Monday, Aug. 15. Readers of all ages can participate by creating a Beanstack account here or logging into an existing account to register for the challenge. Participants can earn prizes by reading and completing activities.
By participating in the Summer Reading Challenge, children and teen readers can earn free books. Readers of all ages will be entered into a grand prize drawing for an annual pass for a family of four to the Georgia Aquarium. Children 5 and younger can log the number of books read, while those 6 and older, including adults, will log minutes spent reading.
Prizes for newborns to children age 5 include:
- A free book for logging 25 books
- A second free book for logging 50 books
- A third free book and one entry into the grand prize drawing for logging 75 books
- A fourth free book and an additional entry into the grand prize drawing for logging 100 books
Prizes for children and teens age 6 to 18 include:
- A free book for reaching 350 points
- A second free book for reaching 700 points
- A third free book and an entry into the grand prize drawing for reaching 1,400 points
- A fourth free book and an entry into the grand prize drawing for reaching 3,200 points
Prizes for adults include:
- One entry into the grand prize drawing for reaching 1,400 points
- A second entry into the grand prize drawing for reaching 3,200 points
For readers age 6 and older, every 300 additional points beyond 3,200 earns another entry into the grand prize drawing for a maximum of five entries per participant.
