The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday at a home on Brown Road in Buford.

Officers responded just after 2 a.m. to reports of a shooting on Brown Road, about two miles from the Mall of Georgia. Upon arrival, they found a man who had been shot. He later died from his injuries.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The shooting occurred during what investigators called a “house party” at an event facility. Detectives remained at the scene into the morning, collecting evidence and speaking with potential witnesses.

Information on the suspect has not been made available.
