LAWRENCEVILLE — The Gwinnett County Police Department is grieving the loss of 22-year department veteran, Major Stuart Bozeman.
Bozeman passed away on the morning of Mar. 10, 2021, after losing his battle with a lengthy illness.
“Major Bozeman was a cherished and loved member of the police department,” Corporal Collin Flynn, public information officer with the Gwinnett County Police Department said in a statement on Thursday.
Bozeman was promoted to the rank of major 2020 and was serving as the commander of the Bay Creek Precinct at the time of his death. He has previously served the department and community with a number of assignments including the Uniform Division, Training Section, Accident Investigation Unit and the Criminal Investigations Unit, as well as the commander of the department’s Honor Guard.
“Major Bozeman will be remembered as not only a great police officer but also a loyal friend and a wonderful human being,” Corporal Flynn said.
His funeral arrangements are still being planned and as soon as they are finalized, the public will be notified.
