Gwinnett County students return to classrooms on Aug. 3, and the Gwinnett County Police Department is holding a back-to-school drive collecting supplies to help children return to school prepared.
Donations for Operation Children Thrive are accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through July 25. Donations can be dropped off at the Gwinnett County Police Headquarters at 770 Hi Hope Road in Lawrenceville, the Gwinnett County Police Training Center at 854 Winder Highway in Lawrenceville and all Gwinnett County police precinct lobbies. The department’s North Precinct is at 2735 Mall of Georgia Boulevard in Buford.

- Safety scissors
- Tissues
- Paper
- Crayons
- Pencils and erasers
- Glue sticks
- Pencil pouches
- Calculators/flash drives
- Pens
- Index cards
- Highlighters
- Pocket folders
- Rulers
- Notebooks (composition and spiral)
- Hand sanitizer
