LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Gwinnett County residents will have a chance to meet local first responders, explore emergency vehicles and watch skilled police motorcyclists compete when the annual Public Safety Fall Festival returns Saturday.
The Gwinnett Police Department will host its 17th annual Public Safety Fall Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Gwinnett Field, 2500 Buford Drive in Lawrenceville.

The free event is designed to strengthen connections between residents and the county’s public safety agencies.
Attendees will be able to meet representatives from Gwinnett police, Fire and Emergency Services, the Department of Corrections and the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office. Other county departments, community organizations and local vendors also will participate.
Festival activities will include giveaways, food trucks, face painting, rides and Touch-a-Truck experiences that allow children and families to get an up-close look at emergency and public safety vehicles and equipment.
A featured attraction will be the third annual Peach State Rodeo, a police motorcycle skills competition featuring highly trained law enforcement motorcyclists from across the country.
Competitors will demonstrate precision riding and maneuvering skills through challenging courses designed to test control, balance and motorcycle handling.
Admission to the Public Safety Fall Festival is free and the event is open to the public.
