Gwinnett students among Delta Community scholarship recipients

Annual program recognizes academic achievement, service and leadership

GWINNETT COUNTY — Delta Community Credit Union has awarded $25,000 in scholarships to five high school seniors, including a Gwinnett County student. They provided these awards through its 2026 College Scholarship Program.

Each recipient will receive $5,000 based on academic achievement, community service and essay submissions.

Among this year’s honorees is Sydni Hope, a senior at Greater Atlanta Christian School, who plans to attend Howard University and major in biology.

The remaining recipients represent schools across metro Atlanta and beyond. These students plan to attend the University of Georgia, Carnegie Mellon University, University of Maryland, College Park and Florida A&M University.

More than 250 students applied for the scholarships this year.

“More than 250 inspiring, highly accomplished students submitted applications, and the award winners stood out based on their clear goal orientation and a demonstrable commitment to serving others,” said CEO Hank Halter. “We are proud to support these young adults in their academic journey.”

Delta Community Credit Union, the largest credit union in Georgia, has awarded scholarships for 21 consecutive years as part of its broader community investment efforts.
