An occupant in a vehicle traveling down Interstate 985 northbound on Sunday, July 9, sustained a non-life-threatening injury after being struck by pellet gun fire, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
The HCSO is conducting an investigation into the incident in which as many as 10 vehicles were struck by pellet gun fire between 5 and 5:30 p.m. in the area of Friendship Road and Exit 8. A person of interest found in the vicinity of the source of the pellet gun fire is being questioned by criminal investigators.
Investigators think more vehicles could have been hit by pellets from the weapon. Anyone traveling I-985 during that time should check for vehicle damage consistent with pellet gun fire. Anyone with damage should call Hall County Dispatch at 770-536-8812 to file a report.
