A restaurant in the Hamilton Mill area of Buford failed its most recent health inspection conducted Monday, Aug. 8, by an inspector with the Gwinnett County Health Department.
Teppan Poke and Hibachi at 2725 Hamilton Mill Road, Suite 600, in Buford, received a failing health inspection score of 60 U.
The most serious violations included raw salmon stored over ready-to-eat foods in the prep cooler and freezers that could result in cross contamination; an employee not properly washing/sanitizing dishes; dry food toppings stored uncovered and exposed by the registers; and improper storage of in-use utensils.
Other violations include using hand sinks for dumping food and rinsing utensils; using unapproved chemical to sanitize tables; employee medicine bottles stored above prep surfaces and food; multiple spray bottles not labeled with the chemical they contain; employee preparing food with jewelry on their wrist; dishes being washed and rinsed at the vegetable sink; and single-use utensils stored for the customer with the contact surface exposed.
Teppan Poke and Hibachi will be revisited by the health inspector on or before Aug. 18, for a follow-up inspection.
