Last Saturday night, April 28th, the Buford Arena once again played host to the Atlanta Havoc Indoor Arena Football Team.  The Carolina Cowboys travelled to Buford to play against the Havoc and see if they could break Atlanta’s undefeated streak.  The Cowboys could not muster any sort of defense against the Havoc let alone much of an offense.

Atlanta’s starting QB Lee Chapple threw for 132 yards which netted the team 5 touchdowns.  Later in the game, Michael Eubank took the helm as QB for Atlanta passing for 56 yards and gaining 3 touchdowns for the Havoc. Thyron Lewis, Brian Robinson, and Alex Coleman each caught passes resulting in 2 touchdowns each.  Ryan McDaniel and Martell Moore also caught the ball and ran it in for a touchdown each. Zach Brown led the rushing with 2 touchdowns while Michael Eubank had one touchdown.

Defensively strong as well, the Havoc kept the points Carolina scored very low.  LJ Jackson led the Atlanta defense with 7 tackles, 3 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and was able to run the ball in for a touchdown that Micheaux Robinson intercepted then through a lateral play passed the ball off to LJ for the TD.   The Havoc was able to sack the Cowboys quarterback five times as well.

The final score for the game was Atlanta Havoc 87 – 14 Carolina Cowboys.  While the score was high, Head Havoc Coach, “Boo” Mitchell said that he was disappointed in the team’s performance.  “We still had too many penalties, and we still had two Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalties which must stop!” Coach Mitchell expects a lot from the team and even though they are still undefeated, he cuts them no slack.

The Havoc will be on the road on May 5th against the High Country Grizzlies.  The team will return to the Buford Arena on Mother’s Day weekend. They play the Carolina Energy on May 12th at 7:00 p.m.  For more information and tickets, visit www.atlantahavoc.com.  Check them out on Facebook and Twitter.
