BUFORD — The Gwinnett County Police Department had the I-985 interstate shut down on Wednesday afternoon from Friendship Road to Buford Drive according to preliminary reports.
Corporal Collin Flynn with the Gwinnett County Police Department said, “We are investigating a possible suicide on the side of the roadway.”
The North Gwinnett Voice first learned of the incident from a reader who called the paper to report the incident.
Due to traffic being diverted off of I-985 at Friendship Road to Buford Drive, the surface streets in Buford including Buford Highway and SR 20 saw a higher than usual amount of traffic.
