Peter “Pete” Charpentier will retain his Post 5 seat on the Suwanee City Council following Tuesday’s runoff election.
Charpentier received 607 votes (51.4 percent) to challenger David Martinez’s 574 votes.
“I am thankful for the support of Suwanee residents and humbled to serve the citizens of Suwanee for a 4 year term,” Charpentier said. “It was a truly collaborative effort by my supporters to encourage people to vote and make their voice known.”
Prior to being elected to the Suwanee City Council in 2020, Charpentier served on the city’s planning commission for 18 years and the Suwanee Board of Appeals for two years. He has called Suwanee home for more than 23 years. Charpentier is director of marketing for Ingenico in Alpharetta.
“Suwanee is well positioned to continue as a desired community to live, work and play,” he said. “I am excited to represent all of the residents of Suwanee and their hopes and desires for our great city.”
Charpentier will be sworn in at the beginning of January.
