BUFORD — Investigators with the Gwinnett County Police Department are looking to speak with anyone who witnessed the pedestrian accident that involved longtime Gwinnett County Senior Magistrate Judge Emily Powell that occurred on December 20, 2019. Judge Powell was struck by a truck as she was attempted to cross West Moreno Street in downtown Buford. She would succumb to her injuries sustained during the accident on December 31, 2019.
Investigators learned that there “were several witnesses and bystanders on scene either before, during, or immediately after this incident.” The press release sent out by the department asks that anyone who witnessed any portion of this incident, or provided any type of aid afterward, to contact the Gwinnett County Police Department.
