A Blue Ridge man remains in the Hall County Jail without bond charged with sexual exploitation of
children following an undercover operation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
Sidney Wayne Phillips, 25, was arrested on Thursday, December 13.
On November 9, Phillips made contact with an individual he knew to be a child using a mobile app.
During the messaging, Phillips turned the conversation to a sexual nature and requested to move
the communication to text message.
During the continuing conversation, Phillips asked the individual to meet him for sexual interaction.
According to Investigators, Phillips agreed to a November 10 meeting with the individual at a
business in Hall County. The suspect did not arrive at that location.
During the investigation, detectives were able to determine Phillips’ identity. Investigators
arrested him at the Hall County Sheriff’s Office South Precinct.
According to Investigators, no child was ever in danger. The case remains under investigation.
