Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators are working to determine the identification of a body found floating on Lake Lanier Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021.
Deputies initially responded to a call about 5:15 p.m. from an individual on a personal watercraft who saw the body about 100 yards from the shore of Old Federal Campground in Flowery Branch.
The body is that of a white male, and a preliminary investigation shows the body had been in the water
for about a week. There was no immediate means to determine identity or cause and manner of
death, and investigators sent the body to the GBI Crime Lab for autopsy.
