Since the 1st of November 2018, at least seven separate incidents of entering auto thefts have occurred at a popular park. The park in question is Bogan Park located at 2723 North Bogan Road in Buford.
According to the reports pulled by The North Gwinnett Voice, the thefts occurred between 3 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. All are of a similar nature where someone smashed a window out to access the inside of the vehicles.
Two of the latest incidents occurred on January 16, 2019. A police officer was in the area doing an area check and came upon the victims.
One victim stated that she arrived at Bogan Park at 8 p.m. to watch her grandson play a basketball game. When she came back to her vehicle at approximately 9:15 p.m., she found the rear driver’s side window was busted out. Nothing was taken from her vehicle.
The second victim is a young lady who went to her swim practice at 7:35 p.m. When her practice was over, she went to her vehicle at 9:15 p.m. only to find that her driver’s side rear window had also been busted out. The victim reported to the officer that her letterman jacket and a blanket were taken.
Even though police do patrol the area, criminals are brazen enough to bust windows and steal from vehicles. Stay alert, be aware of your surroundings including people and if you are the victim of a crime, call 9-1-1 immediately.
