(Buford, Ga.) — Gwinnett County Police responded to an incident on June 2, 2019, on I-85S near Mile Marker 125 in Buford.  The caller to 9-1-1 said it appeared that a motorcycle, an SUV, and a tractor-trailer were involved in an accident. When cops and medical personnel arrived on the scene, they found that the driver of the motorcycle had been ejected from his bike and died from his injuries.  The deceased driver has been identified as Eduard Onufriychuk, age 25 of Maysville, Ga.

Upon investigation, police discovered that the motorcyclist was traveling north on the southbound shoulder of the interstate.  On the southbound shoulder sat an unoccupied gray Nissan Altima. Onufriychuk tried to swerve to avoid the Nissan but was unable to clear the car in time.  The passenger on the motorcycle was able to jump off of the back of it before it impacted the Nissan Altima. They sustained only minor injuries. Upon impact, Onufriychuk was ejected from his motorcycle.  He landed in the right travel lane of I-85S. He was struck by a tractor-trailer truck which resulted in his death.

No other injuries were reported.
