Seckinger High School’s mascot was revealed by the Gwinnett County Public School system on Tuesday, Oct. 19. The new school’s mascot will be the Jaguars. Seckinger’s official school colors were also announced as blue, black and two shades of gray.
The new high school will open next August and is being built to help with the overcrowding of Mill Creek High School. Mill Creek is currently the largest high school in the county with an enrollment of 3,646 students (data from the 2019-2020 school year). It is slated to open with a full athletic program.
The new mascot, a black jaguar, is also the mascot for the middle school that will feed into Seckinger, Jones Middle School. Other schools in the Seckinger cluster are Harmony, Ivy Creek and Patrick elementary schools.
The new school is located at 3655 Sardis Church Road in Buford. The school’s official website has also been launched and can be found online at gcpsk12.org/seckingerhs.
