Moises D. Reyes

Moises D. Reyes, age 61, of Buford, GA passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Moises was born in Humacao Puerto Rico on May 7, 1958, the youngest of 11 children, “the baby of the family.” He was brought to Brooklyn, New York at the age of 2 were he lived most of his life. He married Helene Reyes on 3/31/89. He had his daughter Jessica Reyes on September 30, 1989, son Fernando Gabriel Reyes, February 22, 2004. The family moved to Atlanta, Georgia in the year of 1995. He adopted Andy (Chino) Vega as his son, his wife as his daughter-in-law and his daughter as his own granddaughter. He also adopted as a son his nephew, Luis (Mandito) Reyes Jr., son of his brother Luis, Sr., who contacted him on a daily basis.
He was a great son, great brother, a great husband and father to his two children and a great uncle. His wife Helene and kids were the love of his life; they came first. He was a devoted husband and father, and was loved by all who met him. He was the love of Helene’s life. He loved being home at all times with his family, and protected them with his life.
He had a great sense of humor at all times. He never complained during his 22 surgeries and illness. He was always happy and making people laugh. He was known as Curly from the 3 Stooges, which he was a fan of, because he imitated Curly so well and looked like him. He loved watching Lets Make a Deal and The Price is Right every day. He loved life, food, entertaining family and friends. He loved to cook and was a great one.
His hobbies were raising pigeons since he was 8 years old until May 2019. He loved all kinds of animals, especially dogs. He also enjoyed fishing very much. He and his cousin, Indio, whom he loved very much, would go fishing on occasions.
His love for his brothers, sisters and family was unconditional. To know Moises was to love him.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Mario Reyes and Rev. Ruben Reyes officiating. Family will receive friends 3:00 p.m. for public viewing and service at 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 26th at the funeral home.
