BRASELTON — The Georgia Department of Transportation is set to begin more construction this week along State Route 347 in Hall County.
The construction will take place at the intersection of SR 347 and Grand Reunion Drive. A Reduced Conflict U-Turn (RCUT) will be constructed at this intersection by crews from Vertical Earth, Inc.
Motorists should expect single-lane closures between the hours of 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday.
According to GDOT, an RCUT is “an intersection design that reduces crashes by changing how minor road traffic crosses or turns left at a major road reducing the potential conflict with other vehicles. At an RCUT, minor road traffic must turn right. Left turn and through movements from the minor road are accomplished through the use of a downstream U-turn. All movements (left, though, and right) are allowed from the major road.”
Drivers are asked to slow down and be alert through the construction zone. This project is set to wrap up within 45 days of the start date.
