Visitors to the Buford Corn Maze leading up to Halloween and after will see a new face at the admissions booth — Billy Sachse said he most enjoys welcoming guests to the local, long-time attraction.

“My biggest goal there is when guests walk through the gate, to make sure they’re in a good mood,” said Sachse, who, with his wife, Cindy, purchased the Buford Corn Maze this past summer. The attraction was originally founded by Rodney and Kendra Miller, who partnered with Jerome and Tina Beggs to operate the maze and the activities and events that complement the main attraction.

Now in its 16th season, the 32-acre farm — with its original history dating back to the early 1800s — still offers a variety of activities centered on the maze, which is designed this year to reflect the Sachses’ new focus on three pollinators — butterflies, bees and bats. Visitors who make their way through the corn maze will encounter larger-than-life representations of these three creatures that are vital to pollination and maintaining healthy ecosystems across the world.

Along with the maze, the farm continues to offer a variety of things to do, from meeting and greeting animals to enjoying kid-friendly activities in the Kids CORNer to selecting a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch to braving the Haunted Forest, which provides a spooky experience perfect for Halloween.

The Buford Corn Maze is open until 10 p.m. today, Sunday, Oct. 27. From Monday, Oct. 28, through Halloween on Thursday, Oct. 31, the attraction will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The Haunted Forest opens at dark. The fall season doesn’t end with Halloween, though — the fun continues Friday through Sunday, Nov. 1-3, with Friday’s hours 6 to 10 p.m., followed by Saturday’s and Sunday’s hours from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The maze will also remain open through Nov. 17, with hours from 6 to 10 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

The attraction is at 4470 Bennett Road in Buford at the intersection of Friendship Road and Ridge Road/Hog Mountain Road.

Admission to the Buford Corn Maze is $17.95 plus tax for single tickets. Combo tickets, which include the maze, Haunted Forest and unlimited hayrides, are $29.95 plus tax. For additional ticket information, click here.

While the fall season for the Buford Corn Maze officially ends in mid-November, the Sachses plan to open the attraction during the Christmas holidays with new activities and fun for the entire family.

“I couldn’t be prouder of what we’re doing,” Billy Sachse said. “It’s the people you meet that make it all exciting.”
