If you have never gone to the Gwinnett County Public Library system’s website and looked at what events that they offer in their library branches, then you have missed a whole array of opportunities. April is a busy month at your local branch. One series, in particular, stood out to me as being a very helpful one to those seeking jobs.
During the month of April, the library is offering a series called April Job Bootcamp Series. There are five offerings in this series. Each session is free and registration is not required. Below is a list of offerings available in this series at the Buford-Sugar Hill branch.
- April Job Bootcamp Series – Job Searching – 4/8/19 – 6:30 p.m. – We will discuss tips & tricks to help you in your job search.
- April Job Bootcamp Series – Branding Yourself for Employment – 4/9/19 – 6:30 p.m. – Learn how to craft and refine your online presence while job hunting.
- April Job Bootcamp Series – Prospective Employee Communication & Etiquette – 4/11/19 – 11 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – We will discuss Employee Etiquette and Communication while job seeking.
- April Job Bootcamp Series – Resumes and Cover Letter – 4/11/19 – 6:30 p.m. – We will discuss writing winning Resumes and Cover Letters.
- April Job Bootcamp Series – Job Interview Skills – 4/13/19 – 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. – Special guest, Jane Bishop will provide a workshop on Job Interviewing.
The library even has one job-hunting session for the teens out there called “Side Hustle: Summer Jobs for Teens”. This session is available on 4/10/19 at 6 p.m. where they will discuss how to discover skills necessary to get and keep a great summer job. This is available to kids in Grades 6-12.
