ACWORTH, Ga. — Aydin Dossa tied for seventh individually, and the North Gwinnett High School boys golf team finished seventh at the Class AAAAAA state tournament Tuesday at Bentwater Golf Club.
Dossa entered the final round with the individual lead after shooting a 1-under-par 71 during the opening round. He carded a 77 in the second round to finish with a two-day total of 148. His opening-round score was one of only five rounds below par during the tournament.
North Gwinnett posted a team score of 619 after shooting 310 in the first round and 309 in the second.
Deen Mustic tied for 22nd with rounds of 78 and 76 for a total of 154. Ashton Kaba tied for 27th after shooting 77 and 78 for a 155.
Nathanael Hawkins and Noah Zemmour tied for 49th with two-day totals of 164. Hawkins shot rounds of 84 and 80, while Zemmour recorded rounds of 86 and 78.
Norcross placed 12th with a team score of 644, shooting 321 in the opening round and 323 in the final round. Jaykb Belin led the Blue Devils by tying for 30th with rounds of 77 and 79.
Norcross’ Davis Beck tied for 34th, Franklin Griffin tied for 51st and Ben Hester tied for 55th.
Individual qualifiers Khang Phan of Grayson and Duncan Reid of Brookwood tied for 42nd with two-day totals of 160. Mill Creek’s Cooper Cassidy tied for 51st after shooting a 165.
