A teacher is someone who is meant to guide and direct their students through their education. In an Elementary school, a teacher’s job is to make sure their students are prepared with the fundamental things they need to succeed in middle and high school, as well as, for the future beyond. Among six North Gwinnett Cluster Teachers of the Year, Ms. Lori Tschan is Riverside Elementary School’s choice. Currently a 4th-Grade teacher, she has taught in Gwinnett County for seven years. Although her first three were as a substitute teacher, that didn’t stop her from winning the hearts of her students. “My favorite part about teaching is helping students set goals for their learning, and then helping them find manageable ways to meet those goals. Riverside is a wonderful school with very involved families, knowledgeable staff, and a supportive administration. We all work together to do what is best for all of our students (Lori Tschan)”. Ms. Tschan hopes to continue teaching and to watch as many more students grow and change into a bright new generation.
