While it wasn’t the easiest win ever, the North Gwinnett volleyball team beat Mountain View to win the Region 8-AAAAAAA Championship title on Thursday. North Gwinnett won the first set 30-28, lost the second set 18-25 but turned things around to win the next two sets 25-22, 25-19.
Joya Screen had a stellar performance for North Gwinnett. She had 41 kills (.421 hitting percentage), two aces, eight digs and two blocks for the Lady Bulldogs. Other notables for North Gwinnett were Daniela Domkam (42 assists, one ace, six digs and two blocks), Kendal Crumpler (seven kills, one ace, eight digs and a block) and Katherine Mollette (19 digs and an ace).
