Five Gwinnett County students are participating in the credit union’s work-based learning program during the 2023-24 school year.
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — North Gwinnett High School senior Vani Patel is among five Gwinnett County students participating in Delta Community Credit Union’s High School Apprentice Program during the 2023-24 school year.

Patel was assigned to the credit union’s Johns Creek branch, where she will work part-time as a teller while completing her senior year.
Three other Gwinnett students were selected as first-year apprentices: Collins Hill High School senior Brandon Ruiz-Amador, Peachtree Ridge High School senior Charleen Yazo and Brookwood High School junior Fizza Gallani.
Ruiz-Amador was assigned to Delta Community’s Buford branch, while Yazo and Cissner are working at the Duluth branch. Gallani was assigned to the Snellville branch.
The Gwinnett students are part of a 21-member apprentice class working across Delta Community’s metro Atlanta branches. The students completed training before beginning their assignments.
“The students have wrapped up training and are now working in their assigned branches,” said Anthony Pura, Delta Community’s manager of corporate communications. “This is a great way to highlight a program providing students with job training, work experience and a paycheck during their final years of high school.”
Delta Community launched the apprenticeship in 2006 through Georgia’s work-based learning program. The initiative gives students practical experience in financial services while helping the credit union develop potential future employees.
The 2023-24 class marked a milestone for the program, bringing the total number of participating students to more than 200 since its creation.
