“I’m excited to begin serving as Mayor of Sugar Hill,” Hembree said Tuesday night. “With the election of Jenn Thatcher and Mason Roszel, re-election of Nic Greene and Taylor Anderson, and continuation of Marc Cohen’s service, we have a really awesome Mayor and City Council team. We are all going to, as a team, continue doing great things for Sugar Hill. Thank you to the other candidates that ran, especially Tiffany Hale Carter. Because of the hard work of all the candidates we had near record voter turnout, which is healthy for our community. I’m proud of Sugar Hill tonight!”

The race for Suwanee City Council Post 5 is headed for a run-off between David Martinez and Peter Charpentier, as neither candidate garnered the required 50% plus one vote to secure a win. The run-off will be held Tuesday, Nov. 30, with early voting starting Saturday, Nov. 20.
