Officer Involved Shooting in Buford

BREAKING NEWS!

We just received word that an officer-involved shooting occurred in the 3700 block of Suwanee Mill Drive in unincorporated Buford. Police responded to a domestic dispute between the suspect and his wife. Police found the male suspect standing outside of the residence with a knife in his hand.

Police were giving the suspect verbal commands but he ignored those commands and proceeded to go inside of the home. He then exited the home with a handgun.

Police officers attempted to negotiate with the suspect to get him to drop the handgun but the suspect refused to do so. After several intense minutes, the suspect pointed the handgun at a couple of officers.

One officer fired and struck the suspect. The officers on scene attempted to render aid but the suspect died at the scene.

The identities of the suspect and the officer are not being released at this time.
