Paul Penland, age 89, of Buford, GA passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-three years, Nellie Ruth Richardson Penland; sister, Vallie Penland Buchanan; and brothers, William Penland, Archie Penland, and George Penland. Mr. Penland is survived by his son, Ronald “Ronnie” Penland and significant other, Gail Laws, Winder, GA; daughter, Sherry Penland, Buford, GA; sister, Margaret Sue Dear, Akron, OH; sister-in-law, Lillian Richardson Daniel, Commerce, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Penland was born on September 17, 1930 in Shooting Creek, NC. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having serviced in the Korean War. Mr Penland was a retired warehouseman with Guthrie Machine Shop in Doraville, GA. He had worked for Massey Ferguson Tractor Co for twenty-one years. “He loved his family and was very devoted to taking care of his late wife for her last ten years. He loved gardening and animals.” A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.at Vision Baptist Church, 355 Windy Hill Dr, Alpharetta, GA with Pastor Austin Gardner officiating.
