A tragic accident occurred yesterday afternoon in Buford when a small plane went down, killing the pilot.
What we know at this time:
- According to FOX 5 Atlanta the plane had taken off merely minutes before.
- The Federal Aviation Administration, investigating the crash with the National Transportation Safety Board, cited the time of the crash as 5:30 p.m. — as reported by Yahoo News.
- Also confirmed, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office reported that the plane crashed in a parking lot on Lanier Islands Parkway near Pine Cone Drive.
- Officials also identified the name of the sole victim and only person on board as 60-year-old Howard Lee Joe of Dunwoody.
- The Atlanta Journal – Constitution reported the plane to be a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza.
- No one on the ground was injured.
