Police Activity Lead to Sycamore Elementary Lockdown

Sycamore Elementary School went on lockdown Thursday afternoon after being contacted by Gwinnett County Police advising of an incident in a neighborhood located in close proximity to the school.
No official reports have been released by GCPD, however, 15-20 police cars were seen surrounding a home located in the 1200 block of Autumn Wood Trail in Sugar Hill between approximately 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
A resident at a neighboring house stated that police were searching for suspects connected to a burglary and had reason to believe the individuals were inside the home. In addition to the almost two dozen police cars, SWAT and K-9 units were also on scene.
One witness said that police could be heard calling over their loudspeaker for the suspects to come out. The K9 unit was sent inside. No suspects were found inside the home. The homeowners were out of town at the time of the incident.

No further information is available at this time.
