Police ask for public’s help identifying suspect

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is seeking help identifying a woman accused of passing more than $32,000 in stolen and forged checks in Buford and surrounding areas as far as Woodstock and Covington.

According to police, the woman spent thousands of dollars from Wednesday, Feb. 2, to Thursday, Feb. 3, in Buford, Dacula, Norcross, Kennesaw, Woodstock, Douglasville, Conyers and Covington.

Police said the checks were stolen from a vehicle at a Clarke County park on Monday, Jan. 31.
