OAKWOOD — The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted murder-suicide that took place on Tuesday afternoon.
Deputies responded to a call about a shooting that took place in the 3000 block of Old Pleasant Hill Road in Oakwood at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 2, 2021. Deputies located two people who were suffering from gunshot wounds.
Deputies determined that Horace Owens, age 82 shot his daughter, age 62 and then turned the gun on himself. The shooting is believed to be the direct result of a domestic incident at the residence.
Owens and his daughter were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for treatment. The daughter is in stable condition but Owens remains in critical condition at the hospital.
The case remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
