The city of Suwanee invites area residents to recycle their live Christmas trees during its “treecycling” campaign, part of the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation’s annual Bring One for the Chipper program.
Local residents can drop off trees free of decorations, lights and stands at Sims Lake Park at 4600 Suwanee Dam Road now through Saturday, Jan. 8.
Volunteers will be on hand from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, to assist with unloading trees.

In 2020, mulch from almost 1,200 trees was spread in Suwanee parks.
Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful will also accept trees from county residents at local fire stations through Tuesday, Jan. 25. Locations in the north Gwinnett area include:
- Fire Station 14 at 1600 Highway 23 in Buford
- Fire Station 24 at 2735 Mall of Georgia Boulevard in Buford
- Fire Station 29 at 2800 Thompson Mill Road in Buford
- Fire Station 17 at 2739 Brooks Road in Dacula
- Fire Station 27 at 2825 Old Fountain Road in Dacula
- Fire Station 21 at 474 Old Peachtree Road in Suwanee
- Fire Station 26 at 6075 Suwanee Dam Road in Sugar Hill
