The Region 8-5A competition cheerleading all-region team was released on Thursday, January 24th, 2019. The team of 20 student-athletes are as follows:

The GHSA state competition cheerleading championship was held this past November and featured a number of successes in the Division 5A from the Region 8 Cheer Teams. The Buford Wolves headed straight the State Finals (day two) of the State Cheerleading 5A Championship after placing first at the Region Cheerleading Competition held in Dawsonville, Georgia. After competing in the Sweet Sixteen, the Wolves finished 10th in the State 5A Division. The Loganville Red Devils finished with a 3rd place on day one at Sectionals to advanced to the State Finals on day two. They finished day two, the Sweet Sixteen with a 12th place State finish in the 5A Division. The Walnut Grove Warriors tied for 9th place during Sectionals on day one and were knocked out of the Sweet Sixteen to advance to State Finals by a one-point tiebreaker, finishing 17th in State 5A Division. Johnson Knights also finished their competition season on day one at Sectionals placing 17th and not advancing to the State Finals on day two.


The complete All-Region Competition Cheerleading Team is voted on by the competition cheerleading coaches of the region.
