Residents raise concerns over Buford gas station project

BUFORD — A planned gas station near Interstate 85 in Buford is raising concerns among nearby residents, who say the development could disrupt their neighborhood and lead to increased traffic.

The city of Buford recently approved plans for a large gas station with truck fueling facilities near the intersection of I-85 and Gravel Springs Road. The site sits on land the city annexed earlier this year.

Residents of Camp Branch Road, located near the proposed site, say they were not properly informed about the project and are worried about its impact on their quality of life.

“This is a quiet neighborhood,” said one resident, who asked not to be named. “We’re worried about traffic, noise and safety.”

Homeowners also expressed frustration over what they describe as a lack of transparency from city officials. Some said they were unaware of the annexation or the development plans until after they were finalized.

The project is still in its early stages. Residents said they plan to speak out at upcoming public meetings and urge city leaders to reconsider or modify the plan.
