FoodFight

The city of Suwanee has claimed the 2024 Community Food Fight title, collecting more than 14,000 pounds of food and raising more than $2,000 to benefit the North Gwinnett Co-op in a month-long competition against the city of Sugar Hill.

In the friendly city versus city bout supporting a worthy cause, Suwanee edged out Sugar Hill, last year’s winner, to claim this year’s trophy in round two of the competition. The real winners, however, are the local residents in need who will benefit from the donations.

“Our two cities together raised $3,680 and 17,139 pounds of food for the North Gwinnett Cooperative, with Suwanee raising $2,195 and collecting 14,025 pounds of food in donations over the course of just one month,” Suwanee posted on its Facebook page.

“Thank you to everyone who donated, spread the word, and showed up to make a difference,” the city’s post continued. “We have to give a HUGE shoutout to Sugar Hill & the North Gwinnett Co-Op for such a fun month that has resulted in this awesome community impact!”
