The Gwinnett County Department of Transportation is expanding its Ride Gwinnett transit services.
The service expansion will include a new local route, Route 50, transporting passengers to Buford from the Sugarloaf Mills Park and Ride in Lawrenceville through downtown Suwanee, and providing customers access to Mall of Georgia, Exchange at Gwinnett and Coolray Field.
Route 50, one of three new bus routes that will service various parts of the county, is expected to begin offering transit services Monday, Nov. 20. A $2.50 fee per trip will be charged for use of the the fixed-route service, the same fare for existing routes.
According to Ride Gwinnett, the proposed transit service expansion will increase transit destination options for residents by 41%, and Ride Gwinnett will be accessible to more than 50% of Gwinnett residents.
“Whether you are commuting to work or school, going to the grocery store, heading to the hospital for an appointment, or visiting friends or family, Ride Gwinnett’s service expansion offers more convenient mobility options to get you to the places you want to go,” a webpage detailing the service expansion states.
