The post season for high school football has officially begun and teams that earned a playoff berth will participate in the first round of the playoffs on either Friday, Nov. 11 or Saturday, Nov. 12.

Both Buford and North Gwinnett are their regions’ champions and will have home field advantage for the opening round. Lanier goes into the playoffs as the No. 4 seed from Region 8-AAAAAA so they will be on the road for the first round.

On Friday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m., Lanier will play against Roswell at Roswell High School. Roswell is the No. 1 seed from Region 7-AAAAAA and had an overall regular season record of 9-1. Lanier had an overall regular season record of 4-6.

North Gwinnett will host Dacula at noon on Saturday, Nov. 12 at North Gwinnett High School. North Gwinnett was 8-2 during the regular season while Dacula’s regular season record was 3-7. Dacula is the fifth seed from Region 8-AAAAAAA while North is the No. 1 seed from Region 7-AAAAAAA.

Peachtree Ridge will travel north to play Buford at Tom Riden Stadium at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12. Buford just wrapped up a perfect 10-0 season while Peachtree Ridge was 6-4 overall during the regular season. Peachtree Ridge is the No. 4 seed from Region 7-AAAAAAA and Buford is the No. 1 seed from Region 8-AAAAAAA.
