The American Red Cross is experiencing dangerously low blood supply in the worst blood shortage in more than a decade. According to the organization, the low blood supply levels have forced some hospitals to defer patients from major surgery, including organ transplants and donations are desperately needed.
On Wednesday, Feb. 9, a blood drive will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Lanier High School, 918 Buford Highway in Sugar Hill.
Eight appointments remained at the time of this posting, and donors will receive a $10 Amazon gift card by email as appreciation.
Register online for the blood drive by clicking here and entering the 30024 zip code. Then scroll through the drives until you come to Lanier High School. If you’d like to register by phone, call 1-800-RED CROSS.
