According to the city, 403 votes were cast Tuesday with 11 provisional ballots, while 248 voters took advantage of early voting, with three provisional ballots cast.

Post 4 was vacated by Nic Greene, who resigned from the council in January.

Hicks is a political newcomer and a seven-year resident of Sugar Hill. He has worked in network operations for AT&T for the past 19 years.

When asked what he would bring to the table as a candidate prior to the election, Hicks said, “I feel I bring a fresh perspective with progressive solutions that maintains the integrity and values of our community. I also feel with 15+ years in leadership, managing domestic and international teams, this allows me to continue to lead by listening first.”

*Results are unofficial until certified by the respective city.
