Georgia Sen. Clint Dixon (R-Buford) will be present at the Gwinnett County Board of Education meeting on Thursday, June 17, and he has something to say before the board convenes.
At 6 p.m., an hour before the Board of Education meeting, in the parking lot of the Instructional Support Center in Suwanee, Sen. Dixon is expected to address recent statements made during a Monday, June 14, news conference held by Gwinnett County Solicitor-General Brian Whiteside. During that news conference, which was held at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center in Lawrenceville, Whiteside questioned the response of Gwinnett County Public Schools’ police force in handling security at the May 20 meeting of the Gwinnett Board of Education.
Dixon is speaking at the request of Gwinnett County Parents for Quality Education, a No Left Turn in Education GWGA Chapter. He is expected to be joined by state Rep. Bonnie Rich (R-Suwanee). Additional speakers will be on hand.
The Instructional Support Center is at 437 Old Peachtree Road NW.
