GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (Feb. 7, 2024) –On Monday night, the Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD) conducted a search warrant on two adjacent properties on a large estate in unincorporated Buford.
The properties located off Kay Morgan Road were suspected of being used as a hub for prescription drugs, specifically oxycodone, but during the search, police discovered stolen construction equipment and supplies estimated to be worth almost $1 million.
County and federal law enforcement officers spent 14 hours on Monday removing items from the property owned by Bobby Mosley. According to a press release from the Gwinnett County Police Department, “Officers located a large supply of construction equipment and stolen property inside the attached garage and another garage behind the house.”
Police have reported that during their search, they discovered residential flooring, doors, windows, electrical wire, lights, fans, tools, hardware, and appliances on the property. Rodney Mosely, who claimed to be the homeowner’s nephew, was uncertain why the police confiscated items from the property. “Bobby is a good guy who buys and rents out properties.” They believed that Bobby was conducting his business as usual.
Detectives are currently investigating if items were stolen from nearby stores or construction sites. “some of the property could have come from local Home Depot and Lowes stores as part of a retail theft operation. The loss prevention divisions of these companies were called to help identify potential stolen property.”
Police report that additional charges could be forthcoming as the investigation continues. Detectives are still conducting an inventory of the stolen property and illegal pills seized from the scene. It may take more than a week to inventory items stored at the residence.
During the search, a large number of illegal narcotics believed to be Schedule 1 and 2 pills were also discovered. GCPD reported in their press release that four arrests were made. Charged with VGCSA possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute were:
Bobby Mosley, 60
Charles Mosley, 41
Estuesta Fortuna Rogelio Jr., 48
Regina Crane, 50
