Sugar Hill to hold virtual Memorial Day ceremony and will dedicate new Veterans Memorial

SUGAR HILL — Each year the City of Sugar Hill hosts a Memorial Day ceremony honoring our nation’s military members.  While the ceremony will have the same feel as years past, there will be one major difference…the public will get to watch it virtually.  This year’s event will also be the official unveiling of the city’s new veterans memorial and the monument will be officially dedicated.

The event will take place on Monday, May 25 at 11 a.m. at the city’s new veteran’s monument located in downtown Sugar Hill off of West Broad Street.  The ceremony will feature several community leaders and groups including Mayor Steve Edwards, the Suwanee Creek Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Sugar Hill American Legion Post 127, the Broad St. Concert Band Quintet, and volunteers from the Boy Scouts of America.

The public is strongly encouraged to catch the live stream of the event.  The live stream can be accessed by going to the City of Sugar Hill’s Facebook page and then click on the event page for the Memorial Day Ceremony.

Those that wish to attend the event in person may do so but must strictly adhere to the list of guidelines to view the ceremony in person.
