The Gwinnett County Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating a suspect in an armed robbery.
According to police, at approximately 11 p.m. Sept. 26, the suspect, Khalil Hamilton, 26, used a home-sharing site to rent a basement room at a home on Seed Way in Buford. Hamilton then texted the victim, who lives at the residence, stating he needed assistance with a bathroom repair. While the victim was assessing the maintenance complaint, the suspect is accused of brandishing a black handgun and demanding the victim lie on the floor. The suspect then zip-tied the victim and stole the victim’s wallet and watch before fleeing the residence.
Hamilton has ties to Texas and Philadelphia and is considered armed and dangerous. He was last seen driving an older model Honda passenger car with Texas tag SSF5628. He has active warrants for armed robbery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
