BUFORD — A male walks into a jewelry store at the Mall of Georgia, asks to see two necklaces, and then suddenly snatches them from the employee.
A male suspect enters the Markezza Jewelers at the Mall of Georgia in Buford on June 29, 2020, at approximately 3:30 p.m. and started looking at necklaces in a case. A saleswoman noticed the male and asked if he needed assistance. The male then asks to see two particular 24-inch “Miami Cuban” 10 karat gold necklaces.
The saleswoman gets the two necklaces out of the case and places them on the counter. As per the store’s policy, the saleswoman kept her hands on the ends of the necklaces to help maintain control. The male then suddenly snatched the necklaces valued at $23,945 and ran out of the store.
The male is described as an African American male wearing a white t-shirt, a COVID mask, and long hair.
