The Gwinnett County Police Department Robbery Unit has come forward on Dec. 5 with the names of two suspects who are accused of a string of ATM robberies amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars stolen.
Gwinnett County officers from the West Precinct were dispatched on Sept. 9 to an ATM robbery at a bank in Norcross on Jimmy Carter Boulevard. At the scene, they learned that two male suspects had robbed a technician as he was making repairs to the ATM machine.
On Sept. 13 detectives became aware of a similar incident involving an ATM on Hampton Green in Duluth.
A third incident occurred at a bank in Forsyth County on Sept. 22. The Gwinnett County Robbery Unit and detectives in Forsyth compared notes afterwards and determined the robberies were connected.
Detectives analyzed data from Flock cameras and social media and determined 30-year-old Danzil Earl of Atlanta, and 31-year-old Ronnie Lewis of Texas to be responsible for the back-to-back crimes. Criminal charges have been filed against both parties.
Earl was charged with Robbery and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on Nov. 27.
There is a warrant out for Lewis, who is also charged with Robbery.
Additional charges may be pending.
