The city of Suwanee will remember the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and honor the heroic first-responders who gave aid in the aftermath during a ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of the tragic events.
The event will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Suwanee Town Center Park around the Remembrance Plaza.
“This event will provide a moment to pause and reflect on who we are as a nation,” said Amy Doherty, Suwanee’s events and outreach manager. “We want to honor our heroes and reflect on the significance of what this day means to our community.”
A flag and wreath-laying ceremony will be held and guests are welcome to bring flowers, small flags or other commemorative items.
