Three talented young ladies from Lanier High School recently announced via Twitter their college commitments.
Lizzie Campbell, a two-sport athlete (basketball and volleyball) has committed to play basketball for the University of North Georgia. The 6-foot-1 forward won 46 games during her junior and senior years. She earned All-Region 8-AAAAAA honors and assisted the Lady Longhorns to their first-ever state championship title her junior year. Campbell maintained a 3.7 GPA at Lanier.
Zuriyah Davis announced her commitment to the Emmanuel College women’s basketball program. The 5-foot-6 point guard was named the Region 8-AAAAAA co-player of the year. Davis also received all-county honors and was selected as a Georgia Athletic Coaches Association all-state pick. Davis played for Central Gwinnett during her 9th-11th grade years just coming to Lanier her senior year. She maintained a 3.8 GPA during high school.
Morgan Manley, a 5-foot-8 two-sport athlete (basketball and track and field) for Lanier, has signed with the Georgia State women’s track and field program. Manley received all-region nods for basketball during her senior year and she was selected as Lanier’s Scholar-Athlete Award winner for maintaining a 3.9 GPA. Manley competed in several races and field competitions for Lanier track but during her junior and senior years only competed in races. She only competed in the 400-meter and the 800-meter races during the March 11 Welcome to the Ranch meet.
