Vacant Buford home considered total loss after recent fire

Hall County Fire Rescue responded to a residential fire in the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 6, in Buford.

Units were dispatched at approximately 1:10 am to a large, vacant home in the 3000 block of Friendship Road. Upon arrival, crews found the more than 4,900-square-foot, two-story structure fully engulfed in flames. Initial attempts by fire crews to combat the flames externally with hose lines failed due to the extent of the fire. A ladder truck was dispatched to assist in extinguishing the flames through aerial operations.

The structure is considered a total loss. Hall County Fire Rescue personnel conducted a search and confirmed no one was inside in the residence at the time of the fire. The cause of the blaze is unknown and is under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.
